Sage Tea for your good health

My herbal Mentor, Susun Weed has a write up on Sage online so I'll just highlight the benefits and provide the link to her post if you want to read from her yourself.

Sage is something I have been growing in the gardens and just recently found out about it's healing power. I know Sage helped a friend of mine with hot flashes but I never really considered looking into garden sage for medicinal use... until now.

I have some sage drying in my drying room right now as it is ready for picking.

In the linked article, Susun Weed says Sage is Salvia, which means 'savior." And says it has many of the healing properties of its sisters in the mint family. Within this family of herbs are high levels of calcium and other bone building minerals. "The volitile oils in sage are antimicrobial and antibacerial and capable of countering a variety of food-borne poisons, as well as other infections.

A tea of garden sage can help with the following:

~prevent and eliminate head colds
~soothe and heal sore throats
~clear the sinuses
~speed up immune respone to the flu
~ease asthma and heal the lungs
~aid digestion, especially of fats
~improve sleep and ease anxiety

That's pretty much a nutshell version of her article on Sage for wellness.

Sage tea will be another one I will be drinking on a regular basis. And, I am hoping to put up some tea blend recipes in the herbal recipes section soon.

Lemon Balm and Mint fall into this herbal family. And I do sell my over stock of dried Lemon Balm leaves each season. This is advertised (as well as other herbal items) in the local weekly Friday market newsletter that delivers through email.

Tea time anyone?

Blessed Sage, another garden herb to use for medicinal purposes... gotta love plant medicine.

Warmly,
Dora
